Seongsu-dong Vibe on a Budget: Trying Cute & Tasty Pasta at Bribeet Seongsu (Seoul, Seongsu)
Aloha, everyone! 🌺
I recently met up with a friend who works in the trendy Seongsu-dong area for lunch. Since Seongsu is the hottest spot in Seoul right now, we decided to check out a pasta place that’s been all over social media: Bribeet Seongsu (브리비트 성수).
The moment I saw the building, I understood the name! When I read it in Korean, I didn't make the connection, but "Beet" actually refers to the red beet vegetable!
Doesn't the color of the building look exactly like a red beet? It is unbelievably cute! 짱 귀여워!!
We took a little stroll around the neighborhood and arrived right when they opened, but there was already a long line formed! Luckily, we had made a reservation in advance, so we could walk right in.
💡Jihye's Tip: I highly recommend making a reservation before you go to save yourself from waiting in line!
You can grab water and pickles from the self-service stand. The pickles are excellent—not too salty, very fresh, and the kind you just keep eating without realizing it!
And look how adorable the napkins and wet wipes are! The vibe seems like something younger people would love (warning: I am no longer considered young 🤣). However, I saw quite a few older customers there too, which truly proves Bribeet's wide popularity.
[Honest Taste Test!]
You can't really tell just by looking at the cute vibe, but their prices are actually quite reasonable for Seongsu-dong!
First, we ordered the beautiful Beetade Lemon (6,900 KRW). It’s so cute how the color changes as you mix it! It’s a refreshing lemon drink with a subtle, gentle flavor.
Next, we tried the dish with rave reviews: the Greek Yogurt & Tomato Salad (9,900 KRW).
This bowl is filled with Greek yogurt, tomatoes, radishes, basil, and beet chips, with olive oil and a syrup-like dressing poured underneath.
Wow.... let me tell you, this was honestly SO good. Burrata or Ricotta cheese bases can get heavy or cloying quickly because they are cream-cheese based. But the fresh, tangy Greek yogurt paired with the subtly sweet olive oil sauce was a match made in heaven!! You HAVE to try this!!
Since Porcini mushrooms aren't readily sold in Korea, I assume they were incorporated into the sauce. This dish features button mushrooms and shrimp in a cream sauce with gnocchi that feels like it’s been fried! It had a unique texture, and the cream sauce had a deep, savory mushroom flavor. This is a dish everyone will love without fail!
Next up was the Salmon Steak Pasta (17,900 KRW).
Interestingly, a salmon steak sits on top of a spicy Ragu sauce. We mixed the salmon into the pasta, and the deep, slightly spicy Ragu sauce was full of the aroma of dill. Using dill makes so much sense with salmon.
As you can see from the video, all the menus are beautiful, mouth-watering, and full of unique character. It truly embodies that hip, "Seongsu-dong feeling!
[Final Thoughts]
There are a corner with these cute decorations when you pay and leave. Everything here makes me smile!
There are many pasta restaurants in Seongsu-dong, but honestly, it’s harder than you think to find a place that is good enough to come back!
However, Bribeet Seongsu has a diverse and unique menu, Instagrammable visuals, and reasonable prices(most important!!). It’s a great pasta date spot that anyone can comfortably visit! (But don't forget to make a reservation!)
A cool autumn wind is blowing today. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Mahalo! 🌺
